The DC4 was the first aircraft Greenland Air purchased (in autumn 1963). The aircraft had flown for Greenland Air since autumn 1960, but it had been chartered from Icelandair. It carried out supply flights for USAF between Kangerlussuaq and Kulusuk – and occasionally to Keflavik and to the DYE-Main station in eastern Canada.
